In Thailand, I have a bachelor's degree in Food Science and Technology from Kasetsart University in 1991. As the project cooperation between Kagawa University (Japan) and Kasetsart University (Thailand), I was very keen on pursuing my further study in Japan.

Two years later, I came to Japan for Master study at Kagawa University sponsored by the Monbusho scholarship. I completed my Master degree in March 1995. After graduation the Master course, I was accepted as a doctoral student of the United Graduate School of Agricultural Science, Ehime University.

The major field of my study is Flavor Chemistry. My research emphasize on the characterization and evaluation of citrus flavor. There are several hundreds species in citrus family. The sour and sweet taste of the citrus flavor gives us a refreshing, pleasant and distinctive sensation. Moreover, the acid citrus, i.e., lemon and lime have been used as the seasoning and the substitutes of vinegar for many foods. Aroma volatile compounds can be instrumentally identified and determined the chemical structures but only the human nose can estimate actual contribution of individual compound to the odor of a product. Thus the relation of sensory test to instrumental analysis is the most important for assessing the characteristic impact compounds. To find out the important compounds in the citrus aroma, identification, quantitative analysis, and sensory evaluation of volatile components in the citrus oils have been performed.
